چکیده

nitrogen and phosphorus are two necessary macronutrients for plant growth and yield. these two elements now will be added to soil by chemical fertilizers. this research has been carried out based on randomized completely block design with three replications at markazi provience agricultural research station, iran, during growing season of 2004-2005 to evaluate the effects of azotobacter chroococcum and mycorrhiza (glomus intraradices) as biofertilizers and urea as chemical fertilizers on concentrations of n, p, k, na, ca and crude protein (%) in corn (zea mays l.) shoot tissues and dry matter of corn. azotobacter chroococcum used as two levels (inoculated and uninoculated), mycorrhiza (glomus intraradices) in two levels (inoculated and uninoculated) and urea in four levels (0, 75, 150 and 300 kg.ha-1). results showed that azotobacter chroococcum affected significantly all studied criteria except of k shoot concentration, but mycorrhizan (glomus intraradices) only had a increasing significantly effect on n, k, na and crude protein. the interaction between azotobacter chroococcum and mycorrhiza (glomus intraradices) had the most increasing effect on dry matter, n, na and crude protein. therefore, based on our results it can be concluded that in order to prevent polluting the agricultural soil, environmental and other water supplies from nitrogen chemical fertilizers, application of azotobacter chroococcum or combined with mycorrhizal fungi with 150 kg.ha-1 urea is recommended.

Evaluation of Different Levels of Nitrogen Fertilizer on Agronomic Traits of Corn (Zea mays L.) Genotypes

Corn production management including nitrogen consumption will be different at different circumstances. In order to investigate the effect of different levels of nitrogen fertilizer on yield and yield components of seed corn hybrids in Khuzestan weather conditions, this research was carried out in the summer of 2013 in the lands of Safi Abad Agriculture and Natural Resources Research Center-Dez...

Maize (Zea mays L.).

Agrobacterium tumefaciens-mediated transformation is an effective method for introducing genes into maize. In this chapter, we describe a detailed protocol for genetic transformation of the maize genotype Hi II. Our starting plant material is immature embryos cocultivated with an Agrobacterium strain carrying a standard binary vector. In addition to step-by-step laboratory transformation proced...

Effects of inoculation on growth promotion and biological nitrogen fixation in maize (Zea mays L.) under greenhouse and field conditions

The application of PGPB to agriculture is increasing as it offers an alternative to the use of chemical fertilizers, pesticides and other supplements. Maize (Zea mays L.) is one of the world’s principal cereal crops, grown for grain, silage and biofuel. Nitrogen fertilizer constitutes one of the major costs in maize production, and PGPB poses a potential alternative for achieving more sustainab...

In order to evaluate the effects of inoculants and chemical fertilizer on quantitative and qualitative yield, a bread wheat cultivar treated with Azotobacter, arbuscular mycorrhiza fungi (AMF) and nitrogen sources by using split plot on the basis of randomized complete block design with three replications in Fars Agricultural Research Station during 2007-2008. Main plots consisted of nitrogen f...
